BIOGRAPHY

alice photo 2020.jpg

When I was a little girl, my favorite things were fingerpainting and making mudpies. Here I am years later, still playing with paint and mud!

I have been a real estate agent, social worker, and pastry chef.  Throughout these careers, I studied with Impressionist and Realist painters, fascinated by the way light affects color and mood.  I was able to pursue my passion for painting full time starting 25 years ago in Costa Rica, where I lived for 10 years.

I have participated in solo and group exhibitions in Costa Rica, California, and North Carolina. Four years ago I moved to New York and pursued my other passion:  making mud into colorful clay objects.  I love the tactile quality of clay, and am using my color sense to enhance my pottery. I still  continue to paint, mainly Still Life and local landscapes.  Through my art, I feel spiritually connected to the myriad shapes and colors in our beautiful world.
